In 1856, Julia Makowska, born Rodakiewicz, took ownership of the theatre. Together with her husband Romuald, she extended the building and upgraded stage equipment. She designated a space in the backstage, which housed the dressing rooms, to serve as an archive where she meticulously collected props, programmes “for representation”, portraits of actors, letters, and postcards. This is supported by an assertion in a “Lublin Calendar”:
A very extensive and valuable collection of Lublin theatre playbills is held by the Lublin-residing proprietors of the building in Jezuicka.
Most of the collection vanished in the 1950s, but a small part survived in the possession of the Makowski family.
